The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the first phase of its Covid-19 vaccination campaign in collaboration with the Pakistani government’s National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

During this phase, the main Pakistan cricketers in all three formats and support staff were vaccinated.

The PCB is proud to be one of the first cricket offices in the world to provide a robust vaccination program to ensure the health and safety of its players and support staff in the current Covid-19 pandemic.

In the first phase, 57 male players, 13 male team officials and 13 NHPC male and female coaches were vaccinated. Many franchise players and support staff in addition to PCB match officials involved in the February-March phase of the HBL Pakistan Super League (three match referees, three referees) were also vaccinated.

The vaccination campaign began on March 4 in Karachi and continued for more than two months, before concluding on May 6 when eight players – part of the Pakistani squad for the ongoing series of tests against Zimbabwe – received a second dose in Harare.

In the next phase, the remaining domestic cricketers, female national cricketers, cricketers by age group and support staff from national, national and age groups will be vaccinated. The second phase is expected to start shortly.
